Prepare an estimate before the work begins

Review the client, items and validity date before sharing a proposed price.

Who this is for: Authorised sales and finance users

An estimate records a proposed price for the customer to review. Keep it separate from the invoice and payment records used later.

Steps

  1. Open Estimates and choose the create option.

  2. Select the client and review the estimate number, validity date and currency.

  3. Add the items or services, quantities, prices and any configured tax or discount details required by your business.

  4. Add useful notes, then save and preview the estimate. Check the business and customer details and the total.

  5. Use the available send or download action when the estimate is ready. If the workflow offers invoice creation, review the resulting invoice before issuing it.

If you get stuck

If a client, currency or item is missing, check the related settings and your permissions. Saving a draft does not mean the customer has accepted it or paid. Follow your company's process for confirming the agreed scope and price.
