Create and review a customer invoice

Prepare a draft, check its details and issue it through the available workflow.

Who this is for: Authorised finance users

Create an invoice for the correct customer and work. Reviewing a draft first helps catch mistakes before a document is shared.

Steps

  1. Open Invoices and choose Create Invoice.

  2. Review the invoice number, issue and due dates, currency, client and project where applicable.

  3. Add the items, quantities, prices and configured tax or discount details. Check the billing address and any notes.

  4. Save a draft where the workflow offers it, then open the invoice to review the full document and total.

  5. Use the available send or download action when ready. Record actual payments through the appropriate payment action.

If you get stuck

Sending an invoice is not evidence of payment. Available online payment methods depend on your configured gateways. If an issued document needs correction, follow your company's finance process rather than creating duplicate invoices. Recurring and time-log invoicing are separate options when enabled.
